Why this site about Melanie Mayron?  
Once upon a mild summer night in the year 1996 ... Finally the air
cooled down and got bearable in my penthouse. I switched somehow
bored through the German TV channels and stopped suddenly. Something
there interested me. What was it? A look into my TV guide
told me, that I was watching a repeat of the series
"thirtysomething". I got fascinated. But more impressing
was this one woman. What was her name? One week later the opening credits
told me her name: Melanie Mayron. It took not a long time for me
to become a fan of this series, and especially a fan of Melanie.
This character, in which Melanie played the little bit neurotic and confused photographer "Melissa Steadman", was an out-standing role in this series. Her performance was absolutely convincing and came to appear lifelike. At that time Melanie was unknown for me, but that's how it came about that I wanted to learn more about her. What other roles has she played? What other talents has she? (She sure must have other talents ...) As a "modern man" I was experienced with the "sake" of the internet, and I tried this way to learn more about her. And I got a lot of informations. Melanie is well known in the USA as well as German actresses are popular in Germany. Because of what I've read about Melanie, I think in meantime she is often be compared with "Melissa". A lot of her (real) life has influenced this character, because she played the role as natural as she is - a very congenial character. 
For this work she even won an
"Emmy" in 1989, which is surely regarded as the
"TV-OscarTM".
But there is many, many other cinema- and TV-film work Melanie has done. This web site is intented to mention her work in appreciation. Because of her cheerful soul Melanie prefers to act in and/or direct comedies. This is a kind of films to look for Melanie. Her last director's work was Bernd Eichingers film "Slap her, she's French", which was a US-German co-production. Some of these films in which she appears were even broadcasted here in Germany TV from time to time. From this films most of my pictures below are taken by "screenshot". Unlucky there is still much missing in my collection ... But I always will peek for old and new films from and with her - and I will always stay to be one of her biggest fans, and thus stay to pursue her remarkable life work - as best as possible here in Germany for me. By the way: Melanie is the sister of Gale Mayron, who starred moreover in the film "Heart of Midnight" together with Jennifer Jason Leigh. |
